The Associate MAC (aMAC) position within the Media Analytics (MA) team is responsible for collaborating with television, online, mobile, advertiser and agency client service teams to provide specific client solutions to drive business decisions or to respond to client audience inquiries. 

 

The aMAC is tied closely with one or more of our Media Analytic Consultants (MACs) who are aligned directly to one or more external clients.  The aMAC, along with the MAC, are responsible for working with the client service teams to understand our clients’ most burning business issues and develop the appropriate solution to help address those issues via Media Analytics’ suite of products and capabilities.  In addition, the aMAC will be directly involved in planning analyses to resolve these specific client concerns, working with a data extraction team for report execution, and compiling and delivering Excel files or PowerPoint presentations into a well-designed summary report that allows for easy and fast interpretation.  The aMAC will also work closely with the MA/client service team on presenting the final deliverable to the client. 

 

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with MAC and client service team to appropriately engage with clients and develop strategies to address client business issues through Media Analytics’ products
  • Collaborate with data extraction team for execution of reports and data extracts
  • Translate data into insights through client deliverables (Excel files, PowerPoint presentations)
  • Partner with MAC and client service teams to present the deliverable to the client
  • Strong written and verbal communication –  the aMAC will be responsible for directly consulting with the client as well as compiling analysis results into a coherent narrative and potentially presenting the PowerPoint deliverable to the client
  • Strong logic/analytical skills – ability to turn numbers into stories our clients can understand and respond to; ability to interpret data is essential to be successful in this role
  • Fast learner with the ability to think creatively – need to fully develop understanding of Nielsen products and what they deliver, as well as how to simply summarize and display the output data in illustrations/graphs/tables for client consumption
  • Project management skills– ability to work with colleagues and senior management to develop analysis plans that meet the objective of answering questions quickly and appropriately, and to clearly communicate the plan to the data extraction team and/or project management team
  • Broad industry knowledge – knowledge of Nielsen television, online, and mobile reports, software, methodologies, and computations; media industry experience
  • Strong time management skills – this fast-paced position will require the aMAC to manage his/her time to ensure the completion of projects in a timely fashion and at the same time set realistic expectations for delivery
  • Fine attention to detail – quality and accuracy in the work is essential
  • 2-4 years industry experience
  • High proficiency with Excel & PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree required
